Home.

We have major house obsessions over here.  Long before we were sittinginatree we were working in the interior design industry crushing on chairs, rearranging our furniture at 2 am, and tearing pages out of Domino magazine.  Our houses our true illustrations of who we are- not just a residence, but a home.  A tour through both of our houses would teach you volumes about who we are as people.  We collect many of the same pieces of furniture, but our houses could not be more different.  Myka's is sparkling white, full of clean lines and modern references.  Mine is bohemian, colorful, and full of furry children.

So because my home is such an extension of me, I've always been curious about the way other people live. At night, walking my dogs, I adore when windows light up and I can catch a glimpse of what's inside the homes of those around me.  Little stories are told about who people are and what they do.  For years I've stalked Design Sponge and Apartment Therapy falling in love with peoples' mementos and collections.  And at times I've been tempted to document my own space through photography, capturing on film what it says about who I am, for the world to study and love or loath, just as I've done with so many others.  So, naturally, I'm pretty smitten with this series of photos Feather Love shot of people inside their dwellings.  Their cabinet of curiosities, as she calls it.  Nothing could be more up my alley.

Here's Ingrid in her San Francisco home.  Enjoy.

XO,

Tori

Last Weekend, We Were Here...

busy as bees working on this amazingly beautiful wedding in San Francisco.  Here's a peek of some of the pics we shot along the way.  We can't wait to share more with you, especially because this day featured a musical march from the ceremony to the reception and guests accompanying the band on kazoo.  Doesn't get much better than that!

My Heart is in San Francisco.

We spent yesterday exploring the city with friends and truly enjoyed every minute pretending to be a tourist.  Yes, we may be wearing coats and scarves at the end of July, but we can't stop loving this amazing city.  San Francisco is truly the windy city of the West (we're ready for a little sunshine), but even with the freezing temperatures, we will never get enough of this place.

Seeing this cute city hall wedding, once again reminded us of why we love this amazing city that we call home.

Around the World.

Our dear friend Amanda just celebrated her birthday and we were beyond thrilled to attend a party surrounding by great friends, yummy food, and delicious wine.  Our friend Christa and her fiance hosted an amazing dinner to celebrate Amanda...at their GIGANTIC home in San Francisco.  And by gigantic I mean, they actually have a separate living room, dining room, office....and an outdoor space.  I was freaking out the entire time I was there about the amount of space which is impossible to come by in the city.  Hmmmm, I think G & I may be moving in. :)

Amanda is a lover of traveling and enjoys a variety of cuisines, so we asked everyone to bring their favorite dish from an international culture.  We ate empenadas from Argentina, pasta from Italy, and yummy Greek olives.

Although I didn't host, you know I had to bring in some girlie decor (major kudos must be made to my partner in crime Tori...she sent me many inspiring ideas that made the party all the more special).  I made some cute party hats, bunting, glittery cupcakes, wine tags (ala my and G's wedding), and set-up a photobooth.  It was such a fun evening!  And the birthday girl even sported our favorite color yellow.  She looked amazing!

Thanks for a great night.

xoxo, Myka

p.s.  the last picture is of our super cute hosts. thanks you two for opening your home to us.

We Heart San Francisco.

These dreamy engagement shots by Heidi of Our Labor of Love, are just another reason why we love our little city of San Francisco.  This city is magical.  Yes, our summers may require you to wear a parka, but at the end of the day this place is just so beautiful and we are happy to call it home.  Every day we discover new amazing restaurants, adorable little shops, and bump into the happiest of people.  Hmmmmm, I think it's about time some of our San Diego friends came up for another visit (you know who you are). xoxo.
