A-A-A-mazing!

As you know, we are seriously addicted to Australian weddings...as evidenced here, here, and here.  Is it just us or do all Australian brides exude an extra dose of the cool factor?  This bride's frothy dress is MAJOR and we can't help but fall in love with it!  You must check out the rest of this beautiful wedding here.

Uhhhh, hi...we just diiiieeeeddd over the dress in the below pic, rightside.  We NEED it now!

Sweet Sydney Wedding.

Myka's sister spent a month traveling throughout Thailand this past May.  While there she met some incredible people, including an adorable Australian couple in Thailand on their honeymoon.  Katie and Bret were kind enough to send their wedding pics to Myka's sister...and all we can say is WOW!  We love her dress, the flowers, the animal stamped hang tags hung from glass vases...it's all beyond gorgeous!

From the bride: We've been together for 11 years this November. It was an after school love at first sight thing, he knew my best friend but we had never met. Then within 3 months of knowing each other Bret was offered a job in Sydney so we packed our bags and moved from Adelaide (South Australia) to the big city and we've been here every since. All of our family is back in Adelaide so it was really exciting to have them all in Sydney for our wedding.

Both Bret and I are party people, so we wanted our friends to feel like it was just like one of our house parties, rather than a serious sit down event. My friend made the scrabble letters and sells them at the Bondi markets under the name 'ritual heart and home'.  As for the tags on the bottles, I love stamps and have a huge collection and I incorporated this into the invite, so I wanted to take that theme throughout the wedding and I found the old style swing tags and made them all myself.

Our other friends made all the cupcakes for us and another friend of ours did all the flowers. We have lots of creative friends and went to them first before hiring extra help, all of them were so happy to be a part of our wedding it was really touching.

Are you swooning?  We certainly are!  Congrats Katie and Bret, look us up if you ever make a trip out to California! xoxo!

Off The Chain.

Those shoes + that dress = perfection.  The chains hanging off the shoulders of that wedding gown are kind of killing us with envy.  This bride has some serious style and we love it.  You've got to check out the rest of this rockin' Australian wedding!
Ohhhh and we're also dying over the glass bottle chandelier.  We'd like one in our house, pretty please.

From Australia, With Love.

Our lovely friend Erin moved to Australia a few years back and met the man of her dreams, with almost the same name.  Erin and Eron are adorable together and tied the knot this past September.

The groom created these amazing invitations and menu for their wedding.  This is definitely DIY done right.

We always love a candy bar, and this one was super cute with it’s bright pops of color.  As with many featured weddings, the details count.

And we must say, this groom gave his bride the best wedding present a girl could ask for.  Eron secretly planned to have Erin’s best friend, Lisa, fly out from California for their big day.  We can’t think of a sweeter or more thoughtful gift.  Unbeknownst to his bride, Eron had their florist, Sarah, make a bouquet for Lisa as she joined the bridal party for the big day.

A gift like that even tops Erin’s gorgeous gown (we’re literally drooling) by none other then Monique Llhuillier.  And her cute yellow Christian Louboutins are killing us with envy.

The bride tells us that “the venue was actually about an hour outside of Sydney city and obviously not that easily accessible so we wanted to make our guests feel like they had a really fun weekend experience.  We rented a big house in Palm Beach on Saturday and had everyone over for a fun BBQ and drinks. It made the weekend last longer and everyone felt like they were able to get away for a bit and relax.”  We love the idea of extending your one day event into a long weekend trip.

The gorgeous outdoor affair took place at a restaurant called Peats Bite. The bride told us that “It's on the Hawkesbury River in Sydney and is only accessible by boat or seaplane (no roads). We organized a private ferry charter for all of our guests to and from the venue.”

They definitely got the dance party started with their unique first dance. The song was a mash-up of American and Aussie classics (Born in the USA, Land Down Under, Living in America, California Girls, etc).

Their photographer, Toby Dixon, is a friend of Eron’s and doesn’t usually shoot weddings (he’s a professional photographer for fashion, advertisements, etc).  We think maybe he should start entertaining the idea of capturing more brides and grooms.

We couldn’t be happier for Erin and Eron.  Not only is this couple beyond gorgeous, Erin has the biggest heart in the world.  Sending you two lots of love from California…congrats!
